Blessing Ramaroka

Ramaroka drop-in center church plant

Dear Friends,

When was the last time you received a blessing from God?

Leo Buscaglia, an American author and motivational speaker who was known to many as Dr. Love, once noted:

“Why do some people always see beautiful skies and grass and lovely flowers and incredible human beings, while others are hard-pressed to find anything or any place that is beautiful?”

David begins his wonderful Psalm 103 with these words:

“Praise the Lord, O my soul; all my inmost being, praise His Holy name.
Praise the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits….”

In keeping with David’s admonition, I want to share with you a couple of AMAZING BLESSINGS that God is showering upon Horizon and our sponsored kids in Ramaroka Village, Limpopo Province, South Africa.

Horizon currently sponsors 23 kids in this small Sepedi tribal village, and another 23 children and youth in a nearby village called Polaseng.

A couple of years ago, Judea Harvest, a church planting ministry in southern Africa, approached Andries and Nelly van der Merwe, our orphan care partners in Limpopo, with the offer of building a small Orphan Drop-in Center in Ramaroka if the structure could be used on Sundays to house a new church.

Of course, we readily agreed.

Judea Harvest provided the funding to build the shell, and Horizon friends donated the money for the concrete flooring, the kitchen appliances, tables and chairs, and fencing for the property.

The Drop-in Center was built this last Fall, and the fencing is currently being erected.

Now, another wonderful blessing has come to us.

Judea Harvest would like to partner with Horizon to build a second facility on the Ramaroka grounds.

This second building will be 66 feet by 33 feet, and will house the kitchen, bathrooms, and eventually a Computer Lab, while the first facility will continue to serve as a gathering place for our Children’s Club and the church plant.

Horizon’s share of the cost is $20,000.

Because of the strategic priority of this project, Horizon has secured a matching grant of $10,000 toward the construction of this second Ramaroka facility.

$5,000 of this $10,000 match has already been donated and will be used to drill a deep-water well on the property.

All that stands in the way, then, to see this blessing from God come to fruition is another $5,000.

Your help is desired to share this wonderful blessing with the orphaned kids of Ramaroka and Polaseng.

Will you prayerfully consider helping us to raise this $5,000?

Your gift of $10, $25, $50, $100, or whatever you feel led to give will be matched dollar for dollar up to $5,000.

When was the last time you shared in passing on a blessing from God? Now is your opportunity!

Grateful for God, you, and our Ramaroka/Polaseng kids,

Bob
